He got his new wheelchair!!!

Yesterday, my son got his new wheelchair! I am soooo excited; this will certainly increase his quality of life. This chair is really nice because it is compact, light enough for me to lift with one arm, easily maneuverable, and he is really getting the hang of using it. Plus, it will come right up to the table when we go out to eat. Something his other wheelchair and walker don’t do.

This will defiantly help my back too. As it is, I always have to pick him up, move him around, and do all that other great stuff. He’s 65 pounds!!! Now all I really have to do is pick him up and put him in it. It takes maybe two minutes to put him in it and strap him down. Very neat!!!

This is simply a manual chair. This means that he controls it by pushing the wheels. He is also getting a new “electric” chair and a new walker. The walker he has now is REALLY torn up and he doesn’t even fit in it. But, I have him in it all the time so he can work his legs. He gets everywhere in his walker. But the new walker is really neat as well.

Keep checking back for updates on his equipment. He’s doing really great and I am very proud of him.
