Screwed again!

Being a single parent is not easy at all by any means. Me personally, I am on a very limited income. Since my son is disabled, I get some state assistance and WAS getting Social Security Income for him. It wasn’t much, but it really did help. I had a very well paying job in air conditioning for many years, so you must understand how difficult it was going from making around $60,000 down to about $36,000 or less. Plus, I have no chance of making overtime pay or bonus’s.

The other day I received a letter from Social Security stating that they had over paid me to the tune of $4300! They expect ME to pay this back because of their screw up and actually sent me a bill that I received yesterday asking me to pay them $83 per month.

I recently had my taxes done as well. I failed to qualify for the “earned income credit” for my children because they said I make “too much money”. I did however get some money back from the government, $2600. But, that money is being withheld because there is a discrepancy in my taxes for 2007! So really, I have not received that money at all. Last year received a refund of just over $7000. This really helps out a single parent or any parent for that matter.

Am I getting screwed over by the government? I think so. First I have to pay back $4300 due to their error. Then, I am NOT getting more money from my taxes because they say I was getting paid too much to qualify. I was getting paid too much due to THEIR error (see above). THEN, they keep the little bit that I am supposed to be getting because they believe there is a discrepancy in my taxes.

Through all of this I cannot stop thinking about the U.S. Census sending out letter telling me that in about a week I will receive my census packet. All the money that went into paper, employment, postage, ink, and everything else. That’s gotta be a shit load of money. Then not too long ago I received another letter saying “By now you should have received your U.S. Census packet”, WHAT THE HELL!!!! Another shit load of money.

I am really glad that a single parent such as me can get screwed monetarily by the government in so many ways. Then watch as the government spends money that really should not have been spent. It is disheartening to say the least. I am struggling to get by in so many ways, and then to feel like I am getting screwed by my own government is simply wrong.

Coming Home

My kids are super excited. Their Uncle (on the ex-wife’s side) just got home this evening from Iraq. We received a call just before 9 p.m. this evening from him and that he is now home.

He is going to come over tomorrow afternoon. I am hoping he will be up here before I go and get the kids from school, that way he could go with me to surprise them. That would be really cool.

Although he is my “ex” brother in law, he has always treated me like I was his true brother. He has even treated my family with the upmost of respect. I am really happy he is now home and somewhat safe.

Well I lost…bummer!

Today I made the kids a “Reward Board”. I got really sick of always picking up after them and stuff. So I started giving them allowance based on their ages. With my reward system, I can give them more money, or take money away when they do not do their chores.

Tonight just before we were done eating dinner, my oldest daughter said she would clean the whole table and all if I shaved my face. I have a goatee and have not shaved it for years upon years. I didn’t think anything of it and personally didn’t think she would do that great of a job. Boy was I wrong!!!

My oldest daughter cleaned the table & dishes like I couldn’t believe. I was so pissed! So, I HAD to shave my goatee off.

I feel so naked! I am looking at my baby butt feeling face and just don’t feel like a man anymore. To me, my mouth looks really small, almost like a butthole. I am really bummed out! I wish I didn’t make that bet. But, at least I stuck to it.

Undateable???

I have decided I am “un-dateable”. I broke up with “The Girl Who’s Name Starts with T” the other night. It really sucked because I really did like her a lot.

I have dated a few really great girls but in the end decided that I was too selfish to start a really serious relationship. Maybe I make up excuses but I always think about my kids too. I feel like it will be really weird for them to have some other woman (besides their mom) here at our house. It is extremely rare that I will bring a girl I am interested in around my kids because of this.

Like I said, maybe it’s because I am too selfish. I really like the fact that I don’t have to be on the phone every night with a girl, or listen to their problems (I have enough of my own). I also really like the fact that I can watch whatever I want to on T.V. and do whatever I want to whenever I want to, (with the exception of having the kids).

I guess I’m just going to keep it me and the kids and stop trying to find something that I don’t even know if I want.

Did we REALLY land on the moon???

That's the moon if you didnt already know.

I am really not into conspiracy theories but this one kinda stuck me a little funny. A lot of people don’t believe that we actually landed on the moon. People have picked apart the pictures that we do have and say there are too many inconsistencies with those photos.

At first when the inconsistencies were pointed out to me, I immediately thought that these people were right. I didn’t think we landed on the moon and the government pulled one over on the whole world. Is it possible the government did this? I believe that the government covers up way too much because they can. Did it really matter to me, no it didn’t. But you do have to ask, “If we already landed on the moon why haven’t we been back”? You would think all these Nasa scientist would want to continually study another planet in which we have a means to go to.

I was watching this show called “Mythbusters”. It is a really good show (although I don’t watch all the time), in which they try to prove whether or not myths are true or false. They tried to recreate all the pictures we have of the moon landing and decide if the conspiracy theorist is correct in their assumptions.

Mythbusters showed that ALL the pictures could very well in fact could have come from the moon.

So who do you believe? Do you believe that we landed on the moon? Or do you believe that the government pulled one hell of a joke on the whole world?
